258. Copenhagen | a few favourite places
Copenhagen has always been one of my favourite cities in the world, despite the fact that there isn't too much to see and it's ridiculously expensive (my tea and the strawberry custard pie above cost like $20). I really love the atmosphere here, the people, the colourful buildings of Nyhavn, the cafes & the food!! The previous time I was here was in 2005 with my dad, which was WAY too long ago so I was really excited to come again during my Eurotrip last month.
In this photo I was sitting at the Cafe Norden patio one night until they closed. It's probably a really touristy spot but it was my favourite place to sit and people-watch.
This is the Stork Fountain, right in front of the cafe. It's located in the middle of Strøget - the famous pedestrian shopping street.
This is what it looks like during the day.
I feel a bit creepy taking this picture but I really liked that a lot of guys here wear bright red, green or blue pants!! Something I've never seen in Toronto.
Nyhavn is my other favourite part of Copenhagen - a row of colourful restaurants and patios lined along the harbour. I'll post more photos of this area in my next post.
Amalienborg Palace. Again, more photos of this place in my upcoming posts..

I agree København is really beautiful and warm-hearted, despite of the small size. I'm glad I've family there! However. with regards to the prices, Strøget is a big tourist place so they turn up the prices. In the smaller streets it's better. Actually, Denmark is less expensive than Norway in general.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to Copenhagen one day. The architecture interests me a lot. About that guy you took a photo of, I found that all of the men, even the younger boys and teenagers, dress impeccably, not like in Canada.

Beautiful photos. Would love to visit one day. xA
ReplyDeleteEspecially when I went to Paris at Christmas, every single guy, regardless of age, was wearing a tailored cloth coat with a stylish scarf and sometimes a hat. In North America guys would just be wandering around in a hoodie.

Yeah, judging from the guys in the photo it looks like they have pretty good style. Looking at the guy with the colourful pants makes me laugh because he just looks so European, I love it!

Next time, you should do a trip to Stockholm. There's so much to love there: the men (all look like models, I swear), the fashion, the laid back culture...

Omg!! Nice photos, ugh so darn jealous you went around Europe lol Makes me wish I went around instead of focusing on one place =P
ReplyDeleteI love love love the photo with the houses across the harbor! When you go on these trips yourself do you get a sort of "soul searching" feeling? Lol I'd imagine I'd get that and perhaps come home with something new I learned about myself. Can't wait to see more posts on this place!
Great photos! We are so close to Copenhagen now I really want to take a long weekend and go there.
