275. The Gabardine

Earlier today I went for a quick dinner at The Gabardine with my sister. It's located just around the block from where I live so I'm not sure why I've taken so long to come here. I really like the decor inside. They serve a lot of sandwiches, a lot of "comfort food", & a lot of wine.


I got the risotto - they make a different one every day. Today mine was with corn, scallions, and parmesan cheese. It was my first time ever eating risotto..I loved it a lot more than I thought I would. Would definitely come back again for it!


My sister got this tuna melt sandwich. I know, it doesn't really look like a sandwich from this photo..she said it wasn't that good.





The beautiful sunrise this morning..during my 7am-ish bedtime. It looked so much more red and beautiful in person.

If you know me, you'll know I LOVE crepes. Last weekend we went to try this new place I found (located on Queen St W) called Chococrêpe. I ordered a berry banana crepe with a scoop of roasted marshmallow ice cream:

    I'm kinda surprised that you don't have any GBFs yet. You're prime hag material!! LOL
    I'm sure they'll turn up soon.There's gotta be a few fabulous ones in Toronto, I'm positive they exist.

    Love risotto - it tastes best with a bit of truffle oil. And yeah, the sandwich doesn't look that delish.

      vodka bar sounds good hehehe! sorry - just as being an estonian (you know with all our history of being occupied by the soviet union etc) still seeing USSR-themed stuff is kind of creepy. i guess kind of like nazi-themed stuff would be. i'm sure the vodka is great there, though :) so still, where is it located - i think it would be interesting to check it out next time i'm in toronto :) i have to say i do like vodka...

      ohh yea I totally understand! it's just the decor they have, very over-the-top as well - statue of Lenin, communist portraits, etc
      you should check it out if you like vodka. I think they have like 75 different kinds from around the world. I don't like vodka that much but I like the atmosphere in that place
      it's on Wellington St, near St Lawrence Market :)

    LOL is that a condom in amongst the nailpolish and laduree box? =P hahaha and look at your cute legs! Argh its so cold in Australia atm so rainy and windy i really wana rock out some skirts and shorts by themselves but cant wayyy too cold.
    OMG at that crepe, usually they're wrapped up? It looks like a huge crepe pizza XD *frothing at the mouth* for it though i lovee banana !!

      it's usually really hot here but we got a few random days when it was perfect at low 20s degrees..
      hahaha your comments always make me laugh..I know! it was like the biggest crepe ever..my first thought when I saw it was that it looked like a pizza too
