385. 360 Restaurant at the CN Tower

A few nights ago we went for dinner at 360, the revolving restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. The restaurant continually spins around (very slowly of course) and makes a full 360 degrees so you can see all views around the city no matter where you sit.
Unsurprisingly, this is a place more popular with tourists than with locals. Including this time, I've only been here to eat three times in my life. The first time many years ago was with my family on the day one of the Harry Potter books were released. I remember I was so excited that I brought the book to read while at the restaurant. After that, we went to watch the Mamma Mia musical. The second time was with my sister a couple years ago at Horizons Restaurant, one floor below 360. I thought I had blogged about it but I can't seem to find the post anymore...
From all those times I post about Canoe, I'm sure you know I love top-floor restaurants with a view over the city. That is the best thing about 360. I like the atmosphere and the food isn't bad..but definitely not amazing.

Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon with PEI Mussels
with fingerling potatoes, wilted spinach and saffron cream


Alberta AAA Peppered Striploin Steak
with Yukon Gold mashed potato, French beans, Cognac, and green peppercorn sauce


In between the main course and dessert, I went to snap more photos..

My Ontario Pumpkin Tart with Cinnamon Custard (and vanilla ice cream). I love pumpkin pie. I went through a phase last year around Thanksgiving when I ate it every single day for about three weeks. I was really excited to see it on the menu..but unfortunately it didn't taste as good as I hoped.


The mango sorbet was delicious though!

384. Recent Life

I know I have been very bad with updating my blog these days (as always) but I have a few good reasons - lack of content, been busy researching stocks and working on a new project. Here are some photos of my recent life.

383. La Societe + Ki

Last week was my birthday. I am now officially 24. My life is going by way too fast..I don't even know where all the time goes! I like where my life is right now but I wish I could go back to being 21 (and stay that age forever), while being at the same stage in life right now. If that makes sense. Anyways, I never really celebrate my birthday. This year I went for a couple birthday dinners with my family. We went to two of my favourite restaurants: La Societe and Ki. I used to go to Ki so often! Sometimes multiple times in a week. It's just around the corner from where I live, and considered one of the main spots of the after-work/financial district crowd. I have fond memories of that place. Last Monday we went there for dinner.


These sweet potato wedges are my favourite thing on the menu. I order them literally every single time I go. They are delicious!

Sockeye Salmon Makimono. There's kiwi, apple and cucumber inside topped with a piece of salmon. It sounded good but I didn't know they prepare it with wasabi already in there.

Tofu & Eggplant Kushiyaki and I forgot what that makimono was..I think eel? It was good and wasabi-free.
