I'm really behind on the blog once again..so here is a big update on the last few weeks. I've been pretty busy with work these days and continuing to set up the rest of my place, and my new cooking addiction. I will do another renovations update maybe tomorrow/in the next post. I'm sooooo happy with the way everything turned out. I really loved the whole process. I kind of want to be an interior designer now hahah. Or I would like to flip properties so I can continually renovate, furnish then re-sell. Maybe someday. That would probably be my dream career.
So now that I have my awesome new kitchen, I've been cooking a LOT. It's funny back then I never cooked and ate out for pretty much every meal. But now I've been cooking way more than I can even eat. I've given away a lot of food that I've cooked and baked so far because I actually like the act of cooking more than eating the final results lol. Well I like eating it too but at the rate I make things it's way too much for just one person. So if we know each other in real life, I am happy to unload some of my cooked food for you if you'd like hahah. Every night before I go to bed I would watch a ton of cooking videos. I even watch videos on dishes that I likely would never make, but it's interesting to see how they are made. & also interesting to find out all the ingredients that go into what I eat.
The weather is slowly getting better so I've been going out more. In the photo above was the only hot day of the year so far (~30C degrees). My friend and I took an Uber to the CNE horse riding academy, then walked all the way back home (she lives in the same building as me). The walk was probably an hour long but it was so nice because of the weather..and we went along the water.
Here are some of the horses from the academy. I want to go horseback riding this summer, somewhere in the countrysides through a forest. I've never done it before but had always wanted to.
The bright light beside Telus is actually the moon
One of the things I made so far..potato stacks
Dinner one night at Cluny Bistro. I love the interior designs of this place!
The drink I had was called "Marie Antoinette". It came topped with cotton candy in the shape of Marie Antoinette's hair. Then the server poured the liquid onto it so that it dissolved. I took a quick
video of it here.
I ordered the veal meatball tomahawk with a side of gnocchi. Partly because I attempted to make gnocchi the night before this dinner and completely failed at it. It was also my first time cooking that night lol. Shouldn't have chosen such a difficult recipe. This gnocchi was good though.
Furniture shopping! I feel like it's an endless process
My friend and I went for dinner one night, went our separate ways then spontaneously decided to head out again to
Rebel. Before that night, neither of us had been there before and wanted to check it out. It's the largest club in Toronto and opened last year. It was a really fun night. I took a
short video here
A couple dinners I've cooked. These are the more simple dishes. One is sweet pepper and garlic chicken with sweet potatoes and one is maple bbq chicken with mashed potatoes and sugar snap peas.
Mother's Day dinner at a seafood restaurant
Taking advantage of the warm weather. Dinner on the Biff's Bistro patio.
Another dinner I cooked with Pacific Chinook Salmon, Tricolour Couscous and Green Beans. This salmon is sooo delicious. The most expensive dish to make but worth it.
Last week I made a total of FOUR carrot cakes. I love baking. I feel I improved a bit each time I made it. I gave a lot of it away though..obviously I shouldn't consume four cakes in the span of one week. This week if my bananas are ready by then I will try banana bread. & apple cake.
Last week I went to Friday Night Live at the ROM with my friend and his clients - a couple who just moved to Toronto from Paris! It was so much fun. This was my second ever time going to this event. The first time I went was with my sister for Halloween..many years ago/the first year the ROM held this event. I just dug up the
old blog post here! This is why I love blogging - I can easily search back and reminisce hahah. FNL at the ROM is when the museum gets turned into a "club". They hold the event in several different rooms with different music/DJs/musicians in each room, along with food and drinks.
